JOB SUMMARY

The Orlando Magic D League affiliate will be located in Lakeland, Florida, the franchise was recently transplanted from Erie, Pennsylvania where they were a premier organization in the league. The team is looking for a motivated intern to support Game Operations and Community Relations team by assisting in the execution of game entertainment elements, including providing motion graphics and editing support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the execution of first-class entertainment at all home games.
• Assist with content creation, including developing on court promotions, video and graphic elements, fan interactive elements.
• Responsibilities will include:
? Creating Digital Signage or LED based off of provided templates 
? Acquire video, photos, logos and fonts for Digital Signage and LED creation.
? Create all other graphics and animations as assigned.
• Assist with various In-Arena video features and Marketing promos as assigned.
Responsibilities will include:
? Research and digitize highlights and other footage prior or during edit sessions.  
? Acquire footage from external resources and general story/information gathering for each project.
? Export and/or compress files to send out for internal and external client approval.
• Assist with the logistics of non-game related events, i.e., season ticket holder nights, fan fests, community relations events, grassroots events etc.
• Assist with coordinating anthem singers, color guard, halftime, entertainment teams, mascot and other performance elements

Social Responsibility/Orlando Magic Youth Foundation Intern - Orlando Magic (Orlando, FL)

JOB SUMMARY 

Assist in the Foundation’s efforts to obtain financial and other support to sustain its work in the community through the solicitation of donations (monetary and in-kind) through individuals, foundations, corporations, and staff.  Manage in-game and online auctions, auction database management and autograph inventory, and assist with the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation grant process all while aligning with the organization’s business goals and fulfilling the mission of OMYF and the Social Responsibility Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with all aspects of the OMYF Open Golf Tournament and OMYF Gala as necessary with mailings, soliciting donation/raffle/silent auction items, receiving, assessing value, tracking donations, writing auction descriptions, taking photos of items, guest and auction registration, auction volunteer coordination, auction set-up, auction check-out, donor correspondence and thank you letters, etc.
  • Maintain OMYF donor databases, which include all event, auction, online, private, and employee giving campaign donations to the Foundation (monetary and in-kind donations). Database includes donor contact information, item(s) donated, etc.
  • Manage online and in-game auctions by securing creative items to be autographed and placed on the online auction site each home game, coordinate league affidavits and certificates of authenticity.  Monitor the bidding process and assist donors with the payment/check-out process, distribution and pick up of items and thank you letters to the supporters. Generate monthly revenue reports to supervisor.
  • Assist in OMYF Grant Cycle as necessary, including but not limited to processing grants, maintaining records of applications received, assisting with board meetings, site visits, follow-up evaluation, grant reception, ordering awards, scheduling game night grant presentations, correspondence with grant recipients, obtaining and reviewing mid-year and end of year grant reports, and researching new organizations who qualify.
  • Assist with team autograph session and donation requests, which include tracking requests, coordinating delivery or pick-up of items, managing autographed inventory and reporting items donated.
  • Assist with writing content for website updates, newsletter and playbill features, and all social media posts for the Foundation (Facebook and Twitter).
  • Maintain current knowledge of league and team foundation events and generate ideas on how to improve existing programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in the sports and entertainment industries to aid in the procurement of auction items.
  • Research other national sports teams (NBA, NFL, NHL, etc.) fund-raising activities to enhance those of the OMYF.
  • Assist with in-game presentation of grant recipients and other on-court presentations.

  • Record, edit, and log highlights during each road game from the Radio Studio.
  • Fill-in as Magic locker room reporter when needed.
  • Assist Radio Producer with writing and producing radio commercials for in-house promotions, external clients, and all other stakeholders as assigned. 
  • Archive and log sound bites, game broadcasts, and Magic ancillary shows for future productions and maintain organizations of audio suite and audio library.

  • Assist in the execution of personalized retention strategies for all partners, such as:
    • Creating personalized presentations for each partner – researching, copywriting, etc.

The Orlando Magic Innovation Intern will have the unique opportunity to do indispensable work with great people in one of professional sport’s first innovation labs, and the first in the NBA. Each project has the opportunity to inspire our colleagues, partners, and the NBA. The Innovation Intern will help curate daily aspects of the Innovation Lab including scheduling sessions, documenting our projects and process, performing research with project teams, and identifying relevant innovation and industry insights. The intern will coordinate external projects and meetings in the Innovation Lab with key stakeholders.

JOB SUMMARY 

Assist in the development and implementation of all in-game promotions and entertainment for Orlando Magic home games at the Amway Center. Assist with scheduling and coordination of in-game entertainment for game presentation, concourse entertainment, and FanFest.

Game Presentation:

  • Prepares necessary items for Client Service Specialist’s meetings with top clients, including but not limited to season recap presentations, gift bags and/or personalized “wow” moments.
  • Assists Client Services Coordinator with the following:
    • Season ticket holder event planning and execution, including tracking RSVP’s through CRM, organizing invite lists and communication to client services specialists on anticipated client attendance.

    • Allocation among departments and fulfillment of legendary moments for season ticket holders.
